A Veteran-Owned Mental Health Practice
Military service shapes individuals and families in profound ways—and at Introspection Counseling Center, we understand that experience on a personal level. As a veteran-owned mental health practice, founded and led by Dr. Dierdra Oretade-Branch, a former Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service, our mission is deeply rooted in honoring and supporting those who serve. We know the strength, sacrifice, and resilience that define military life, and we are committed to providing care that reflects that understanding.
We are proud to now accept Tricare East / Humana Military Insurance (Note: prior authorization may be required from your PCM), expanding our ability to support veterans, active duty service members, and military families with high-quality, trauma-informed mental health services.
We offer the following services:
- Telehealth therapy in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, and New Jersey
- In-Person therapy services in Delaware
- Medication management in Delaware (telehealth and in-person)
Whether you are coping with PTSD, navigating deployment stress, adjusting after returning home, or supporting your family through military transitions, you deserve accessible, culturally competent care.

We proudly serve active duty members, veterans, and military family members as an approved Tricare East / Humana Military provider.
Understanding the Mental Health Needs of the Military Community
Life in the military creates unique stressors that can impact emotional well-being long after a deployment ends or a uniform is put away. Many service members and veterans experience:
- Adjustment difficulties during PCS moves
- Challenges transitioning to civilian life
- Moral injury and survivor's guilt
- PTSD and trauma-related challenges
- Depression, anxiety, and irritability
- Sleep disturbance and hypervigilance
- Reintegration concerns after deployment
- Relationship stress and communication breakdowns
- Burnout, grief, or cumulative service-related stress
Military spouses and children may also experience strain due to relocations, repeated separations, or the emotional toll of supporting a loved one through service-connected struggles.
Our therapists and psychiatric providers are trained to approach these concerns with cultural competence and a deep understanding of military values such as resilience, duty, and service.
