Shanaya Nichols, LMSW
She/Her
Welcome to Introspection Counseling Center. My name is Shanaya Nichols, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker committed to helping you create a life rooted in purpose, growth, and emotional wellness. Whether you’re seeking in-person therapy in Wilmington, Delaware, or the convenience of online therapy, my ultimate goal is to support your journey toward becoming your best “SELF.”
I believe in the power of compassion, connection, and goal-oriented planning to create a path toward healing and self-discovery. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, where your story, your voice, and your values take center stage. Therapy isn’t just a space for reflection—it’s a space for transformation.
You are not alone in what you’re feeling. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or simply navigating life’s daily stressors, I’m here to walk with you. Together, we will explore the experiences that have shaped you, identify the challenges that are holding you back, and build a roadmap that leads to a more empowered and fulfilling life.
I find deep joy in guiding others through meaningful, purpose-driven therapy that is specifically tailored to your individual needs. Your story matters to me—and I am honored to help you rewrite it with strength, hope, and resilience.

Specialities
I specialize in working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges. From those battling anxiety and depression to those coping with ADHD, mood disorders, PTSD, or substance use, I provide a safe, judgment-free space to process what you’re going through and find strategies that work for you.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure of how to move forward. You may be constantly worrying, struggling to stay focused, or weighed down by sadness or trauma. You might also be trying to balance the demands of work, family, or relationships while carrying a deep internal burden. No matter where you are, I will meet you there—with understanding, encouragement, and a personalized approach to healing.
In addition to supporting individuals with emotional and psychological conditions, I also work with clients navigating intellectual and physical disabilities, as well as those adjusting to significant life transitions. I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I firmly believe that healing and growth can take place, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
My approach to therapy is strengths-based and solution-focused. I believe you already possess many of the tools you need to thrive. Sometimes, we just need guidance in unlocking them. We will build upon what’s working while gently addressing what’s not. Together, we will explore how your challenges can become stepping stones toward resilience, self-acceptance, and emotional freedom.
Our Work Together
Our work together is all about you—your growth, your healing, your transformation. Whether you’re seeking in-person therapy in Wilmington or online therapy from the comfort of your home, you can expect a safe, compassionate, and empowering space. I am here to help you explore what you want for yourself, understand what’s holding you back, and learn how to overcome the challenges standing in your way.
You can expect that therapy with me will be collaborative and engaging. We’ll explore your goals and build a personalized plan to move toward them. Each session will be focused on your needs—whether that means managing daily anxiety, improving your mood, healing from trauma, or learning to cope with stress. You will leave our sessions with real strategies and tools to apply in your everyday life.
I use a range of evidence-based practices grounded in empathy, clarity, and respect. You’ll learn how to confront negative thinking patterns, boost your self-esteem, manage emotional triggers, and regain a sense of control. We’ll explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so that you can better understand your experiences and develop healthier ways of responding to them.
Most importantly, I want you to feel seen and supported. You can expect authentic feedback, consistent encouragement, and a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust. Therapy is not about perfection—it’s about progress. It’s about giving yourself permission to grow, to let go of shame, and to step into your power.
As we move through this process together, you’ll gain more than just insight—you’ll gain resilience, confidence, and clarity. You will begin to feel empowered to take control of your story and create the life you deserve.
Remember: you are not your mistakes, your past, or your pain. You are a work in progress—and that’s a beautiful thing.
Let today be the day you choose to begin. I’m here to support you—in person or online—as you take that first courageous step toward healing, growth, and transformation.
Let’s begin writing the next chapter of your story—together.
